Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 c. butter
¾ c. sugar
¾ c. brown sugar

1 whole egg
1 egg yoke

1 t. vanilla
1 t. baking soda
1 t. salt
2 ½ - 3 cups flour

Chocolate chips

1. Melt butter in microwave, (yes, I said melt the butter!) add sugars, and cream till well blended!

2. Add egg and egg yoke, Stir.

3. Add vanilla, baking soda, salt, and about 2 ½ c. flour, fold ingredients until well blended. (You might need to add more flour- depending on the size of your eggs… it might be pretty ‘wet’… just add till it looks like cookie dough!)

4. Stir in chips

5. Bake 350 degrees, 12 minutes (for large cookies), for soft chewy cookies: slightly under bake… keep on cookie sheet for a few minutes with foil draped over… ‘carry over cooking’… then move to cooling racks. So good, every time!

I finally made these today. I have to admit I was a little nervous about melting the butter. They turned out nice and thick without being too cakey. Loved them.
