Chocolate Chip Cookies

2/3 cup shortening
2/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
3 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
Chocolate Chips

Pre-heat oven to 375˚. Mix throughly shortening, butter, sugars, eggs and vanilla. Stir in remaining ingredients. (For a softer, rounder cookie, add an extra 1/2 cup flour. Due to altitude diffenences I would just add the original 3 cups flour and is the dough is too gooey still then slowly add some extra flour.) Bake 8 to 10 mins.

TIP: When I make cookies I like to double the recipe and then freeze the extra dough. Just form your balls of cookie dough, place them on a cookie sheet and put them in the freezer. Once they are frozen you can put them in a freezer bag and store them for later. Then when you want cookies again you just have to get the dough out of the freezer and bake it. :)

I love the tip on freezing cookie dough. I will be using that idea in the future for sure.
